Changing Your Sign-In Method

How administrators migrate users to a new sign-in method

When to change a sign-in method

Most commonly when an employer migrates from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 (or the reverse). Each user keeps the same CRM identity but signs in through a new provider going forward.

For administrators

1

Open the user

In Settings → Admin → Users, select the user.
2

Open the sign-in panel

In the Sign-in method panel, choose Change sign-in method.
3

Pick the new provider

Pick the new provider and provide a short reason for the audit trail.
4

Send the confirmation

The user receives a confirmation link at their current primary address.
5

User confirms

When they confirm, their primary provider switches and their existing sessions are revoked.
Two-person review
Force-resetting a password for an OAuth-only user requires a second administrator to confirm within 24 hours. This prevents an individual admin from quietly issuing a backup password for someone else.

For the user being migrated

Open the email titled Confirm a sign-in change. Click the link. Sign in with the new provider when prompted. After confirmation, all of your other sessions are revoked.
