Customize the email layout

Resizable split panes, scroll behavior, and the three ways to reach Compose.

Resizable split view

Drag the divider — your preferred widths persist across devices.

In split view (two-pane layout), the dividers between the email list, the reading pane, and the CRM context panel are draggable. Your widths save automatically and sync across devices via the user_ui_preferences table.

  • List ↔ reading pane — clamps between 320–720 px.
  • Reading ↔ CRM panel — clamps between 240–480 px.
  • Double-click a divider to reset to the default width.
  • Focus a divider with Tab, then use ←/→ to adjust by 16 px steps.

Scroll behavior

Subject + headers scroll naturally with the body.

The reading pane uses a single scroll container. The subject, From/To headers, and email body all scroll together — no nested scrolls, no pinned subject row. The bottom of the email gives you a fresh Reply / Reply All / Forwardaction bar so you don't have to scroll back up.

Compose entry points

Three ways to start a new email — pick whichever feels natural.

  • Sidebar Compose — always visible on the left rail.
  • Page-header Compose — primary button in the email toolbar (next to Refresh / View / Help).
  • Keyboard — press C from anywhere in the inbox.
Mobile
On mobile, a floating action button (FAB) replaces the toolbar button. The keyboard shortcut works whenever a hardware keyboard is attached.
