Editing a Product

Update product details, pricing, or status.

To edit a product, click on it in the catalog to open the detail page, then click the Edit button. You can update any field including name, pricing, tax configuration, and description. Click Save to apply your changes.

Price changes do not affect existing quotes
Updating a product's price only affects future quotes and invoices. Existing quotes and invoices that already include this product will retain the price that was set at the time they were created.

Managing Product Status

Control whether a product is available for use in new quotes and invoices.

Active

The product is available and can be added to new quotes and invoices. All newly created products default to Active status.

Inactive

The product is retired and will not appear in the product selector when creating new quotes or invoices. Existing quotes and invoices that reference this product are not affected. You can reactivate an inactive product at any time.

Pricing Tiers

Set up volume-based pricing for products.

On the product detail page, you can configure pricing tiers to offer volume discounts. Each tier defines a quantity range and a corresponding unit price. When the product is added to a quote or invoice, the applicable tier price is used based on the quantity entered.

Example Pricing Tiers

  • 1 – 10 units — $50.00 per unit
  • 11 – 50 units — $45.00 per unit
  • 51 – 100 units — $40.00 per unit
  • 101+ units — $35.00 per unit
Margin tracking
Set a cost price on each product to automatically track profit margins. The margin percentage is displayed on the product detail page and helps you evaluate profitability when setting prices or offering discounts.

Tax Configuration

Configure tax class and rate for accurate quoting and invoicing.

Tax Classes

  • Standard — The default tax class. Applies the standard tax rate for your region.
  • Reduced — A lower tax rate for products eligible for reduced taxation.
  • Zero — Zero-rated products that are taxable but at a 0% rate.
  • Exempt — Products that are exempt from tax entirely.

The tax rate percentage you set on a product is carried over to line items when the product is added to a quote or invoice. You can override the tax rate on individual line items if needed.
