Contact Enrichment

Enrich contacts with data from third-party sources

What is Contact Enrichment?

Contact enrichment automatically fills in missing profile information by pulling data from third-party sources. Instead of manually researching each contact, you can use the Enrich button to populate fields like job title, company details, LinkedIn profile URL, and more in a single click. Enrichment saves your team time and ensures your contact database stays complete and accurate.

What Data Gets Enriched

Enrichment can populate the following fields on a contact record.

Job Title

The contact's current role or position at their company, sourced from public professional profiles.

Company Information

Company name verification, industry, company size, and other firmographic data that helps contextualize the contact within their organization.

LinkedIn Profile URL

A direct link to the contact's LinkedIn profile, enabling your team to research their background and mutual connections.

Department

The department or business function the contact works in, useful for routing leads to the right sales team.

Location

Geographic location data including city, state, and country, sourced from available public records.

Enrichment does not overwrite existing data
Enrichment only fills in fields that are currently empty. If a contact already has a job title entered manually, the enrichment process will not replace it. This ensures your manually curated data is always preserved.

How to Enrich a Contact

Trigger enrichment from the contact's detail page.

1

Navigate to the contact detail page

Open the person you want to enrich by clicking their name in the people list or searching for them using the global search.

2

Click the Enrich button

In the header action buttons, click Enrich. The CRM will send the contact's name and email to the configured third-party data provider to look up additional information.

3

Review the results

Once the enrichment completes (usually within a few seconds), the page automatically refreshes to show the newly populated fields. A confirmation message indicates which fields were updated. If no additional data was found, you will see a notification that enrichment returned no new information.

Requirements

What you need before enrichment will work.

Integration Configuration

An enrichment integration must be configured by your organization's admin. Go to Admin → Integrations to connect a third-party data provider. Without a configured integration, the Enrich button will not appear on contact detail pages.

Contact Email Address

For best results, the contact should have an email address on file. Email is the primary identifier used by most enrichment providers to look up a person. Contacts without an email address may return limited or no results.

Admin setup required
If you do not see the Enrich button on a contact's detail page, your organization has not yet configured an enrichment integration. Contact your CRM administrator to set one up in the Integrations settings.

Limitations

Important things to know about enrichment accuracy and availability.

Data Availability

Enrichment relies on publicly available information. Contacts with minimal public profiles or uncommon names may not return results. The amount of data returned varies by contact.

Data Freshness

Third-party data sources update periodically but may not reflect the very latest changes to a person's role or company. If enriched data appears outdated, you can manually update the fields through inline editing on the detail page.

No Bulk Enrichment

Enrichment is currently available on a per-contact basis from the detail page. There is no bulk enrichment option from the people list. To enrich multiple contacts, you need to visit each contact's detail page individually.

Provider Rate Limits

Third-party data providers may impose rate limits or credit-based pricing. Check with your admin about your organization's enrichment quota to avoid unexpected usage costs.

Prioritize high-value contacts
Since enrichment may be subject to provider quotas, focus on enriching contacts that are actively in your pipeline or that you plan to reach out to. This ensures you get the most value from your enrichment credits.
