Creating Goals & Tracking Progress

Create goals and monitor progress toward targets

Creating a Goal

Define a new goal with a target, period, and assignment.

To create a goal, navigate to the Goals page and click New Goal in the top-right corner. Fill in the fields below to define what is being measured, the target value, and who is responsible.

Goal Fields

Complete reference of fields available when creating a goal.

FieldDescription
Name*A descriptive name for the goal (e.g., "Q1 Revenue Target" or "Monthly Call Volume").
Type*The metric being tracked: Revenue (closed-won monetary value), Activity Count (number of activities logged), or Deal Count (number of deals closed-won).
Target Value*The numeric target to achieve. For revenue goals, this is a monetary amount (e.g., 100000). For activity or deal count goals, this is a whole number (e.g., 50).
Period*The time frame for the goal. Monthly goals reset each month, quarterly goals reset each quarter, and annual goals span the full year.
Assigned To*The user or team responsible for achieving the goal. Individual goals track one person's progress; team goals aggregate progress across all team members.

Team vs. Individual Goals

Choose the right goal scope for your objectives.

Individual Goals

Individual goals are assigned to a single user and track only that person's contributions. Use individual goals for personal quotas, performance targets, or activity minimums. Each team member can have their own target value, allowing you to set different expectations based on role, experience, or territory.

Team Goals

Team goals aggregate progress from all members of a team. When any team member closes a deal or logs an activity, the progress counts toward the shared team goal. Use team goals for collective targets where collaboration matters more than individual performance.

Combine both types
Many organizations use both individual and team goals together. Set a team revenue goal to foster collaboration, and individual activity goals to ensure everyone maintains consistent outreach.

Tracking Progress

How goal progress is measured and updated.

Automatic Updates

Most goal types update automatically based on CRM data. Revenue goals track closed-won opportunity values, deal count goals track the number of opportunities marked as won, and activity count goals track logged activities. Progress updates in real time as your team works.

Manual Updates

In some cases, you may need to manually adjust progress. Click on a goal to open its detail view, then click Update Progress to enter a new value. Manual adjustments are logged so you can see when and why changes were made.

Progress recalculation
Automatic progress is recalculated whenever the underlying data changes. If a won deal is later moved back to an open stage or deleted, the goal progress adjusts accordingly.

Filtering Goals

Use filters to find and focus on specific goals.

The goals list supports several filters to help you focus on the goals that matter most:

  • Year — Filter goals by the year they belong to. Useful for reviewing historical performance or planning future targets.
  • Member — Filter by the assigned user to view one person's goals. Managers can use this to review individual team member targets during one-on-one meetings.
  • Period — Filter by monthly, quarterly, or annual to see only goals of a specific cadence.

Quotas Page

View and manage sales quotas across your team.

The Quotas page provides a focused view of revenue and deal quotas for your sales team. It displays each team member's assigned quota alongside their current attainment in a tabular format. Managers can use the quotas page to set targets for upcoming periods, review attainment across the team, and adjust quotas as business needs change.

  • Setting quotas — Assign a target value to each team member for a given period. Quotas function as individual revenue or deal count goals.
  • Attainment tracking — View each person's progress against their quota with color-coded indicators (green, yellow, red) matching the goal progress system.
  • Period management — Switch between monthly, quarterly, and annual views to review quotas at different time scales.
Quotas and goals are linked
Quotas created on the Quotas page also appear as goals in the Goals list. Changes to a quota are reflected in the corresponding goal, and vice versa. This ensures a single source of truth for all targets.
